Why Do I Have Bad Armpits?

Smelly underarms can make you feel uncomfortable, although this is a problem that most people have faced at some point. Commonly called body odor (BO-body odor) and technically bromhidrosis odor meets bacteria.), underarm odor is usually not cause for concern.

There are a number of steps you can take to help minimize and prevent underarm odor, which may alleviate any concerns you may have about the condition.

Unpleasant body odor

WHAT ARE THE REASONS THAT CREATE AXILLARY ODOR?

Your body is covered with sweat glands because sweating is a necessary function to help us cool down.

There are two main types of sweat glands:

  • The eccrine glands cover most of your body and open directly on the surface of the skin.
  • In contrast, apocrine glands occur in areas with more hair follicles, such as the groin and armpits. Instead of opening on the surface of the skin, the apocrine glands enter the hair follicle and then open up on the surface.

Eccrine và Apocrine

When your body heats up, the eccrine glands secrete sweat to cool your body. It’s usually odorless, until bacteria on your skin start to break it down. Certain foods and drinks you have consumed, as well as some medications, can also cause the smell of sweat. The apocrine glands work mainly under stress, secreting an odorless liquid. This liquid starts to smell when it comes in contact with bacteria on your skin. These glands don’t start functioning until puberty, which is why that’s often the time when we start to notice body odor.

While this is normal, some people sweat more than usual. This condition is called hyperhidrosis. People with hyperhidrosis sweat excessively, especially from their hands, feet, and armpits. If your doctor thinks you may have the condition, they can do tests to confirm the diagnosis and make sure it’s being treated properly.

SOME CAUSES OF ARMPITS ODOR

1. The cause of underarm odor is due to genetic factors

This is one of the first factors that cause armpit odor in many people.
According to clinical tests:

  • If both parents have underarm odor, the rate of children suffering from underarm odor is 85% or more
  • With only one parent, this number can be reduced to 50%.

2. Eating habits and daily food use

Drinking alcohol, stimulants, eating hot spicy foods, baked goods, strong-smelling spices in large quantities such as onions, garlic, pepper, anise …
The lack of zinc in your food or the addition of too much fat and protein can also lead to high underarm odor.

Eating habits can affect armpit odor

3. Weather conditions

Sunny and humid conditions, heavy rain, and extreme weather affect armpit odor a lot; Especially, the unpleasant climate in Vietnam makes the rate of people suffering from underarm odor is quite high.

4. Hygiene is not clean, lazy to shower

People who live in an unclean manner, lazy to bathe their bodies, will have a lot of bacteria, especially in damp and sweaty areas like the armpits.
When sweating a lot, it is affected by bacteria that will cause a very unpleasant body odor.
Your armpit area is moist, and it is difficult for sweat to escape, so inflammatory conditions can occur that affect health, causing axillary lymph nodes.

5. Causes of armpits due to disease

Some diseases have a serious effect on the sweat glands, especially underarm sweat.
Some people have diseases such as kidney, liver, digestive system problems, hyperthyroidism, infections caused by bacteria or fungi.
The cause of underarm odor is due to the hormonal functions not working properly.
Medicines to treat the above diseases are also the cause of armpit odor

6. Bad mood, insomnia, stress are also causes of armpits

When our body is in a bad mood, insomnia and stress for a long time, the body will change hormones, leading to armpit odor.
The sweat glands secrete a type of fat, when it encounters mold bacteria that are hiding in the armpit areas, it will cause an unpleasant odor.
If you don’t change your lifestyle, your mood, and get treatment in time, it will only make your mood worse.

Stress also affects your body odor.

7. Teenagers are going through puberty

This is the age when a child’s body will undergo many major changes.
The body’s organs and organs, even the sweat glands, are all developing simultaneously to perfect both biological function and appearance.
Adolescent body’s hormones also change, causing body odor to appear, especially underarm odor.
In order for this age group to develop normal psychophysiology, without guilt in life, it is necessary to promptly handle underarm odor as soon as possible.

Puberty can change body odor

8. Armpits smell in pregnant, childbirth, and premenopausal women

Hormonal changes are one of the main causes of underarm odor.
Pregnant women often have big changes during pregnancy such as temperament and endocrine.
Many newly developed hormones are also the cause of underarm odor
Women in this period also need a lot of food to nourish the fetus, too many nutrients are overloaded in the body, causing armpit odor.

Underarm odor in pregnant, childbirth, and perimenopausal women

In particular, pre-menopausal women, when there are major hormonal disturbances, the body’s body temperature rises, or gets hot at night, sweats a lot.

HOW TO TREAT ARMPITS SMELL

Treatment of underarm odor depends on the severity and underlying cause of the body odor. Bad odors can be caused by poor hygiene or not using the right product. Or there may be an underlying medical condition that needs to be treated.

Use an over-the-counter antiperspirant (OTC-Over-The-Counter); deodorant (or combined deodorant); Or natural essential oils daily, after bathing, can help overcome underarm odor. Sometimes you need to try different types to see which works best for you.

Antiperspirants help reduce sweat production by temporarily blocking sweat pores. The less sweat is produced on the surface of the skin, the less odor it has. Deodorants prevent sweat from smelling, but not on its own. These products often contain alcohol, which makes your skin acidic. This inhibits bacteria from forming which is what causes sweat odor.

If OTC deodorants don’t work, talk to your doctor about prescription deodorants.

While many people are familiar with Botox for its use in smoothing facial wrinkles, it has a number of other practical uses as well. Botox injected into the sweat glands reduces both sweat and odor. This is a common treatment for people with hyperhidrosis.

However, this is not a permanent solution. The injections only last a few months, so the procedure needs to be repeated as needed.

You use Bioremake’s DEODOROIL product; It is synthesized from pure natural essential oils and body deodorizers to prevent underarm odor.

HOW TO PREVENT SMOKE

There are things you can do to prevent underarm odor from developing in the first place. Shower daily with soap and essential oils, as well as bathe after strenuous activity such as exercise or sports, to remove odor-causing bacteria and sweat.

Wear loose, breathable fabrics like cotton, linen, and moisture-wicking blends – especially if you sweat a lot. These will help keep your body cooler better than clothes made from non-washable fabrics.

A 2016 study: Trusted Source found that shaving or waxing underarms significantly reduced underarm odor. This is because cleaning is more effective on shaved or waxed skin.

Shaving or waxing underarms significantly reduces underarm odor.

Here are some additional life DIY tips that you can try at home. Find what works best for you, especially in different seasons.

WHEN TO SEE THE DOCTOR

Facial Skin Care with Herbal Essential Oils

Facial Skin Care with Face Oils

Natural Essential Oil
Natural Essential Oil

Essential oils make marvelous face oils. In this section treatments are given for three of skin and, in general, you need 30 types of drops of essential oil for each 2 tablespoons of base oil, unless specified. If you want a more intensive treatment, use 45 drops of essential oil.

Combination skin is a patchwork of normal, oily, and dry skin with the oily patches usually occurring on the forehead, nose, and chin, and these are often accompanied by blackheads. Treat combination skin as normal skin, and if oily patches are a problem use the face oils for oily skin on those areas. As the skin starts to balance you can adjust the treatment accordingly. Our skins can change quite rapidly, so do take notice of the changes and always facial skin care.

Types of Facial Skin

Normal Skin

Really, there is no such thing as normal skin. Or, more correctly, children have normal skin and the rest of us aspire to it!

The perfect skin of prepuberty is plump, in the sense that the cells are plump, neither dry nor oily, firm and solid, finely textured with no visible pores, spots, or blemishes, soft and velvety to the touch, and unwrinkled. Adults can only yearn for this perfection, and we call skin “normal” if it reaches somewhere near it–about halfway is good enough. The term “normal” is so inappropriate in this context that I prefer to call this type of skin “evenly balanced.”

If you have skin that falls into this category you could use almost any essential oil in your skin preparations, but you should stick to the gentle or even the sensitive type of oils to ensure that your skin remains near perfect.

DAY MOISTURIZER FOR EVENLY BALANCED SKIN
  • Rose 15 drops
  • Chamomile German 5 drops
  • Lavender 5 drops
  • Lemon 5 drops
  • Diluted in 2 tablespoons of almond or hazelnut oil.

This moisturizer should be applied to damp skin. Massage it in and then dab the face with a tissue until no excess oil shows on the tissue.

NIGHT CARE OIL, FOR EVENLY BALANCED SKIN
  • Geranium 10 drops
  • Palma rosa 10 drops
  • Fennel 10 drops
  • Lemon 5 drops

Dilute in 2 tablespoons apricot kernel oil to which you have added 10 drops of evening primrose oil.

If you feel that your skin needs extra nourishment, add 5 drops of carrot oil.

Facial Skin Care

Dry to Normal Skin

When the sebaceous glands are not producing enough oil to keep the skin soft and  supple it  can become dry, prone to wrinkles, less supple, and flakiness may occur. In time it can become sensitive and prone to inflammation, and dehydrated easily by central heating, wind, and sun

This type of skin is prone to peeling and itching during periods of stress. It generally feels taut after washing. Sometimes dry skin is caused by menopause and hormonal changes..

Dry Skin Care

The outer layer of skin is not hydrated from the moisture that surrounds all human cells, interstitial fluid, because there is an impervious barrier between the outer layer of skin and those layers below, and the outer layer of skin is in fact dead and without the usual interstitial fluid of all other human cells. Nor, surprisingly perhaps, is it hydrated by the action of sebaceous glands. Rather, the fat produced by the sebaceous glands acts as a trap for the imperceptible and the visible perspiration which lubricates the outer layer of skin. If there is not enough fat being produced, the perspiration evaporates too quickly, leaving the skin too dry.

DAY RE-MOISTURIZING OIL FOR DRY TO NORMAL SKIN
  • Chamomile German 5 drops
  • Sandalwood 15 drops
  • Bois de rose 5 drops
  • Hyssop 5 drops

Dilute in 2 tablespoons of the base vegetable oil to which added 10 drops of you have evening primrose and 2 drops of carrot oil.
Use in the same way as you would your usual moisturizing cream or lotion.

NIGHT OIL TREATMENT FOR DRY TO NORMAL SKIN

Blend the base oil:

  • Soya bean 2 teaspoons
  • Avocado 2 teaspoons
  • Wheatgerm 2 teaspoons
  • Jojoba 30 drops
  • Borage seed 10 drops
  • Evening primrose 20 drops

then add

  • Carrot 10 drops
  • Hyssop 5 drops
  • Rosemary  5 drops
  • Chamomile German 10 drops
  • Benzoin 10 drops
  • Geranium 15 drops

and blend again

This makes an extremely rich night oil. Massage a small amount into the skin, leave it for a while and then wipe off the excess with a tissue.

Oily to Normal Skin

Oily skin is caused by overactive sebaceous glands. These are subject to hormonal changes which is why oily skin can become a problem during puberty. Overactive sebaceous glands can lead to seborrheic but more often the problem occurs as oily patches which leave the skin shining. Ironically, this condition often results from over-cleanliness- -specifically, scrubbing the face with harsh cleansers and soaps or using astringents that contain alcohol.

Oily Skin Care

Many commercial lotions which are designed to degrease a skin actually cause the sebaceous glands to produce more fat to compensate for the lack of it that results. This same vicious circle can apply to hair preparations. Thankfully, the essential oils have the capacity to balance the skin without making the glands produce more sebum and can provide the perfect solution to these sometimes intractable problems.

DAY BALANCER FOR OILY TO NORMAL SKIN
  • Juniper  8 drops
  • Geranium 10 drops
  • Lemon 10 drops
  • Rosemary  2 drops

Dilute in 2 tablespoons of hazelnut oil to which you have added 10 drops of carrot oil.
Massage the oil in and then dab the face with a tissue until no excess oil shows there.

NIGHT TREATMENT FOR OILY TO NORMAL SKIN
  • Juniper 10 drops
  • Petitgrain  15 drops
  • Frankincense  5 drops
  • Marjoram 5 drops
  • Lemon 10 drops

Dilute in 2 10 drops tablespoons apricot kernel oil to which you have added 10 drops carrot oil.

Fragile Hair with Essential Oil

Fragile Hair

Fragile Hair
Fragile Hair

Fragile hair has often been abused so much by perms, colors, mousses, and gels that there is not much left that isn’t thin, split, or that doesn’t break on touching. It has to be treated very gently to avoid further breaking and the scalp needs stimulation to encourage new and stronger growth. Until that new growth is at the length you want it, the fragile hair needs to be treated with great care. These are the oils to use:

Essential Oil Using

SHAMPOOS STIMULATING

  • Soapwort shampoo base 4 ounces
  • Lavender 2 drops Yarrow 2 drops

Mix together well, in a blender if possible. Use once a week.

CONDITIONING

  • Soapwort shampoo base 4 ounces
  • Lecithin base 1 teaspoon
  • Borage seed oil 3 drops
  • Lavender 2 drops

Mix together well, in a blender if possible.  Use as needed.

Fragile Hair Conditioner

  • Cocoa butter 1 ounce
  • Lecithin base 1 tablespoon
  • Almond oil 2 ounces
  • Borage seed oil 4 drops
  • Evening primrose oil 10 drops
  • Birch oil 10 drops
  • Chamomile Roman 3 drops

Using the bain-marie method, first I the cocoa butter and lecithin. Then add almond oil, stirring all the time, add other ingredients and blend together well. Pour into a storage jar until needed.(The volumes here will provide two or three treatments.) After shampooing, leave the hair for at least ten minutes before rinsing off. Gradually this treatment will build up the remaining cells and help prevent breakage.

Protein Gel

This you use rather like face pack, but on the hair:

  • Plain gelatin ½ ounce
  • Mineral water 1 cup
  • Cider vinegar 1 tablespoon
  • Carrot oil 3 drops
  • Clary-sage 3 drops

Mix the gelatin and water together until you have a smooth liquid. Stir and leave it until it forms a gel type of substance, but don’t leave it set. Now add the vinegar, carrot, and clary-sage–this will prevent it from becoming solid. Use as a hair pack, covering the whole of the hair. Leave on for ten minutes, then rinse off thoroughly. Use once a week.

Greasy hair with Essential Oil

Greasy hair is caused by overactivity of the grease-producing sebaceous glands, one of which lies beside each individual hair follicle. This hair is characteristically lanky and often looks unwashed. Too frequent shampooing with harsh shampoos often exacerbates this condition and then you’re on a merry-go-round– the more you wash your hair, the more you need to. As with lifeless hair, greasy hair is often a sign of ill-health. And as it is often accompanied by dandruff, greasy hair can make quite an unattractive picture.

Greasy hair
Greasy hair

SHAMPOOS STIMULATING

  • Soap stew 4 ounces
  • Rosemary 3 drops
  • Basil 1 drop
  • Lemon 15 drops
  • Cypress 2 drops

Mix together well, in a blender, if possible; shake before use

TO MAKE THE HAIR SHINE

  • Soap stew 4 ounces
  • Thyme 6 drops
  • Eucalyptus peppermint 7 drops
  • Lavender 3 drops
  • Rosemary 4 drops

Mix together well, in a blender, if possible; shake before use

Dry Shampoo

The following ingredients need to be mixed together thoroughly, and although this can be done by hand it is worth borrowing a blender if you don’t have one. Most blenders have a tiny hole in the lid which could almost have been designed for adding essential oils, drop by drop, to blends. Make sure the lid is on tightly otherwise you could end up giving the entire kitchen a dry shampoo! Purified talc is the basis of many pharmaceutical drugs and most pharmacists stock the loose powder.

  • Purified talc 1 ounce
  • Lemon 10 drops
  • Rosemary 2 drops

Blend together well

Use about a teaspoon on a real bristle brush and brush through the hair on the days you don’t wet-shampoo but when your hair still needs some attention.

Conditioning Pack

Greasy hair needs conditioning as much as any other type of hair. Mix the following ingredients together in a bain-marie:

  • Lecithin base 1 tablespoon
  • Sunflower oil 1 teaspoon
  • Green clay 1 tablespoon
  • Vodka 1 teaspoon

Put the lecithin in the bowl first, then add the sunflower oil, vodka, and green clay. Frankly, you will now have a yucky mess, but carry on –it will be worth it! Now add your essential oils and mix them in well:

  • Birch (or Rosemary) 3 drops
  • Lavender 3 drops
  • Yarrow 2 drops

Smear the mixture over your hair, leave on for ten minutes, then shampoo off.

Vinegar Rinse for Greasy Hair

Add 3 drops of thyme essential oil to 1 tablespoon of cider vinegar and mix to dissolve the thyme as much as possible. Then add half a pint of spring water. Add this to the final rinse water in the bowl, after shampooing, and run it through the hair several times to ensure effective coverage.

Making Your Own Essential Oil Soap

Making your own essential oil soap is a bit of a messy job, but it’s well worth the trouble. Not only are you ensured of using the purest of ingredients on your skin, and of having the exact fragrance you want, but with all the permutations there are in terms of ingredients and shape, you can be sure of having a unique product for your efforts. Which essential oils you use to fragrance the soap is up to you, and you can have a lot of fun making blends. Here are three formulas you might like to try; they each contain enough essential oil for 9 ounces of grated soap:

MORNING FRESH

  • Grapefruit 4 drops
  • Lime 2 drops
  • Lemon 1 drop
  • Basil 2 drops
  • Lavender 2 drops

GENTLEMAN’S SPICE

  • Nutmeg 1 drop
  • Bay 2 drops
  • Lime 6 drops
  • Clary-sage 2 drops

COUNTRY LIFE

  • Lavender 6 drops
  • Geranium 2 drops
  • Chamomile Roman 1 drop
  • Rosemary 3 drops

Use as your base grated, one hundred percent pure soap. Excellent additions would be oatmeal, almond meal, avocado oil, olive oil, jojoba, or carrot oil. Bring to a boil an amount of water that is half the volume of the grated soap you intend to use.

Put this in a bowl over a pot of boiling water on the stove, or in a bain-marie if you have one, and add the grated soap. Stir until the soap is fully melted (it becomes quite sticky and sloppy). Take it off the heat and leave it until it is starting to set, then add your chosen essential oils. Mix again very well.

You can scoop out the soap and mold it by hand to the shape you want or put it into pre-prepared molds. You can use old soap boxes for the traditional shape of soap or any small carton or container of your choice, so long as they are well oiled or lined with greaseproof paper. Leave until well set and then turn out the soap.

If the soaps are intended as presents, wrap them in colored tissue paper before they go in the wrapping paper.

Dandruff With Essential Oil

Dandruff

The tell-tale flakes of dead skin cells scattered on shoulders proclaim that someone’s head and hair are in bad condition. Even if you brush your hair thoroughly in the morning and brush your shoulders before leaving the house, by lunchtime those horrid little white flakes are back again, making a mess of your appearance and even, sometimes, your life. The manufacturers of dandruff shampoos are not in the business of clearing up the condition permanently, or who would there be to buy their product? But with essential oils you can get to the root of the problem and ban- ish this scourge once and for all.
